A cosy two-bedroom apartment, KUSI WASI´s biggest and most comfortable bedroom´s, with 25m2 (75 square feet), two single beds, spacious closets and desks in each one of them. These bedrooms are for students who like their privacy and quiet time, away from crowded residences. The apartment is very cozy, with a very pleasant and comfortable decoration; recommended for students who like to take care of their spaces.

These two bedrooms are in a second floor over a family home, but with a complete private entrance that counts with a 24 hour security guard in front of the house. They have a beautiful park view, on a quiet but privileged location one block away from Ovalo Higuereta, one of Lima´s best access points. It is in front of Alexander Von Humboldt School, ideal for students from ESAN University, Universidad Ricardo Palma, Universidad de Lima, Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL), Universidad d Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC); and also convenient for students from Universidad del Pacífico, and Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru, Cordon Bleu and Universidad San Martín.

The apartment counts with two bedrooms, which share a big bathroom with bathtub, a small living room that counts with microwave and fridge [NOTE THAT THERE IS NO KITCHEN].

Only four blocks away there are pharmacies, restaurants (with menus around $2 and 4$dollars) and laundries (4 kilo- 9pound for$4 dollars). A block away there are shopping centers, gym, supermarket and everything you need!!!!

The prices include everyday bathroom and common areas cleaning service, and once a week bedrooms cleaning service, and the towels and sheets will be washed and changed also one a week. It also includes wireless internet, and cable.

KUSI WASI PERU (KW) is a network of apartments and a student residence (facilities of a former school) in Lima. KW offers to you the opportunity to share a good place with other people in your same situation. In these places you can live and feel like at home with all the necessary facilities.

We have places for every taste. We have some amazing places with INTERNET, jacuzzi, swimming pool and panoramic sea view in the best areas of Lima. Others are more "normal", located in more standard zones. However, all of our places are really cozy and secure.

Our new dormitory (an entire building, a former high school) is located few blocks (walking distance) from the universities where most of exchange students come to, namely Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru and Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, in Pueblo Libre district. It is also very close to Universidad del Pacifico.

The price for a single room in the KW network ranges between USD 100 and USD 400 per month, all included.

WHY KUSI WASI PERU?

In Lima you have several options when looking for a place where to live. Instead of a lack of housing (like the situation in most of Europe), in Peru you have an excess of available places. However, finding a good place and, even more, finding a good landlord is something complicated, not to mention the weak contracting institutions and legal enforcement.

Most international students and interns who come to Peru prefer to stay in something like a "Student House" since everything is already organized, there is hardly any contract to sign and, of course, you have the necessary company everyone would like to have when coming to a new country.

Nevertheless, most of these places are overcrowded and noisy, since they host in average 5 times the number of people the original house is designed for.

KUSI WASI PERU is conceived as an alternative to people who would like to have their own space, but having also the possibility to be part of a big group. In this way you do not miss the party and outdoor activities you can organize as a group, but also have your our apartment/house shared by a normal number of habitants.

Our philosophy can be summarized as: "you can be connected as long as you WANT, but you CAN also be disconnected when you find it necessary".

STUDENT RESIDENCE - DORMS "LA ESCUELA"

Lima's first real student dormitory is available now for you in the district of Pueblo Libre. KUSI WASI PERU (KW) just finished implementing a complete building as a residence for students. It is placed at only 5 blocks from Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru (PUCP) and 8 bocks from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM). It is also very convenient for students from Universidad del Pacifico (UP) since Pueblo Libre district limits with Jesus Maria district where UP is located. Daily commuting from "LA ESCUELA" to UP will take only 20 minutes by public transport. Always take into account that Lima is a 8 million inhabitant city, commuting from Miraflores to PUCP or UNMSM could take at least 45 minutes each way.

Honouring our commitment of never offering a crowded place to our guests, KW acquired and remodelled an entire building (a former school) that easily serves our purpose: creating a dormitory of about 24 rooms plus common areas and a very nice rooftop. Notice this is not a house where normally every space is accommodated as a room, but an entire building strategically renovated, where our 7 year experience hosting more than 200 international students in different apartments in Lima played an important role in the planning and renovation.

We have now for you different sort of rooms. You can give us your preference and we will arrange that for you.

The building is very well located, only 6 blocks from Plaza San Miguel, the biggest mall in Lima where you have literally everything like laundry, cinemas, restaurants, fast-food, supermarkets, Ace Home Centre (the Latinamerican IKEA), banks, etc, etc, etc... It is also very close to the Discoteques and Casinos of Av. La Marina... you can not miss it!!!. The residence is also located in from of a park where pre-Inca ruins are still there.

This is a property that consist of three independent floors. The ground floor allocates 8 rooms and has been working since mid-2010 as Student Residence LA CASTELLANA. We have just implemente the first floor as a separed 5-room apartment (See description of the new 5 rooms below)

LA CASTELLANA is located in the limit of Miraflores district and Surco District. Ideal for students from Universidad ESAN, Universidad de Lima, Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL), Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), etc.

It is of course also convenient for students from Universidad del Pacifico (UP), Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru (PUCP), and for interns who like to live in Miraflores' area.

Honouring our commitment of never offering a crowded place to our guests, KW acquired and remodelled this huge house, and is "only" offering 8 rooms for a start. Keep always in mind that with KW you will never run the risk of having to find another place in a short notice since the places are ours.

PAYMENT SYSTEM

OFFERING A NOT OVER-CROWDED PLACE TO YOU MAKES YOUR SINGLE MONTHLY PAYMENT VERY IMPORTANT FOR KUSI WASI FINANCES

In order to allow everyone uses facilities like at home, KUSI WASI PERU apartments are meant only for the apartment's "normal" number of inhabitants. The same is true for our student residence in Pueblo Libre, where only few rooms per floor have been accommodated. This is the best we can do for you, but of course, this has also a huge impact on the money inflow received from the people we host.

The money received from each of our guests constitutes an important fraction of the total monthly income, money we use to cover all the related expenses. Therefore, we can not be so flexible as in other over-crowded places in terms of the agreed payments.

WE EXPECT YOU TO PAY FOR THE PERIOD OF TIME INDICATED IN YOUR APPLICATION FORM (CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT DATES), REGARDLESS OF YOUR HOLIDAYS AND TRAVELS, AND DAYS YOU ARE NOT PHYSICALLY AT HOME

Thus, we expect you to pay for the period of time indicated in your application form. This period has been essential at the moment of deciding who gets which room. Your time period is the one upon which we have decided to give the room to you and not to other applicant.

CALENDAR-MONTH PAYMENTS, BUT SOME ARRANGEMENT FOR YOUR FIRST AND LAST MONTH IN KUSI WASI

KUSI WASI PERU payments are based on calendar months. We expect the monthly payment (calendar month) to be executed the 1st day of each month. We expect you to pay monthly and also for the entire period as stated in your application form, since this was the basis upon which the rooms have been allocated to each of you.

Only for the months when you arrive and depart (your first and last month in KUSI WASI), you can decide to pay for the entire month or on a per-day basis. The cost per day for those specific months is 1/20 of the normal monthly payment. This implies that if you are staying more than 20 days it is convenient for you to pay for the entire month, and if you stay less than 20 days you can save some money. For example, if you stay 10 days you pay the half of the month.

There is no other kind of arrangement. Please be aware of this.

DEPOSIT

You will be requested to make a deposit equivalent to 1 month of your rent together with your first-month payment. This deposit will be returned to you in your last day of stay in KUSI WASI. The amount will be a executed in favour of KUSI WASI in case you cause damage to KUSI WASI properties (provided that the amount can be covered by your deposit, otherwise you have to cover the damage), or in case you have to leave KUSI WASI before the check-out day indicated in your application form and we are unable to find someone else to cover you for the period of time you leave us in advance.

Please be aware that the deposit can never be considered as the payment for the last-month of stay in KW.

For a normal renting period (3 to 5 months), you have the right to host up to 7 days your visitors in your room without any extra cost. Take notice that this is for one host. If you have more than one host, each night will be counted as the number of guests you have. For example, if you have two people staying for two nights it will be counted as four nights. After the 7th night you will be requested to pay USD 5 per each additional night per person hosted.

Unless your room is specially designed to host more than two people at the time, please ask the administration if you can host more than two guests. Remember that it is against KW policy to use the common areas to host people. Finally, take in to account that you are going to be held responsible for any misconduct of your guests.
